New from HazChem Systems - Tactile labels

It is a legal requirement for all packaging for hazardous substances on sale to the general public have the Tactile Warning symbol on them.

This is the familiar raised triangle which allows people with sight impairment to know they are handling something potentially dangerous.

HazChem Panel

It is most common accepted practice  for vehicles running under UK regulations to carry all the necessary details on a combined panel, usually referred to as the Hazchem Panel. This example shows a Hazchem Panel with Hazchem Emergency Action Code The four-digit UN Substance Identification Number identifies the substance in transit and the panel contains the specialist advice telephone number.

Kemler Panel

Vehicles running under International (ADR) regulations display an orange board with a 3-digit ADR Kemler Code instead of an Emergency Action Code.  The UN number is beneath, as with UK transport. Vehicles running under ADR tend not to have integrated Hazchem boards, with the class diamonds (referred to as 'placards' in the ADR regulations) being displayed separately.  There is no requirement under ADR for an emergency telephone number.
